Debark University Enters a New Phase of Global Partnership
Debark University’s delegation, led by Dr. Gashaw Gismu, Vice President for Academic, Research, Technology Transfer, and Community Service, joined the 3iS Project Closing Event at the University of Gondar from November 5–7, 2025.
The gathering marked the successful completion of the two year 3iS Project (Impactful, Inclusive, and Integrated Higher Education in Eastern Africa), where Debark University showcased its milestones alongside partners from Greece, Spain, Somalia, Kenya, and Ethiopia.
The event celebrated achievements in fostering inclusive education, global collaboration, and institutional innovation, while also unveiling the next chapter—3iS+, an Erasmus+ initiative designed to expand student and staff mobility across partner universities. Debark University reaffirmed its commitment to lead this new phase, building on the strong foundations laid by the 3iS Project.
In a gesture of appreciation, Debark University presented Prof. Jaume Guia (University of Girona) with a hand-painted portrait of the Simien Mountains, honoring his guidance and partnership. The event concluded with certificate awards, renewed collaborations, and a shared vision for a more connected and sustainable academic future.
