- Public and International Relations Executive
Debark university’s public and foreign relation directorate, which is organized in 2010 EC. is working to assist and promote the university’s work in teaching learning, research and community services and other administration activities. As one of its main objective, the directorate publicizes the main activities of the university with the aim to build the good image of the institution and to attract partnerships. The directorate undertakes activities in gaining understanding and support for clients of university and influence their opinion and behavior for good. The office utilizes all accessible forms of media and communication tools like printing medias, electronic medias, social medias and others to build, maintain and manage the university’s relation with its clients (university’s community, students, the community, universities (internal & foreign), public figures, institutions (governmental & non-governmental), voluntary organizations, partners,…).
Among others, the office has the following roles;
- Establish and maintain goodwill and understanding between the university and its clients and partners to fostering their relation with university;
- Organizing, public conferences, discussion forums, public speeches, meetings, symposiums, seminars, forums, student welcomes, graduations, ceremonies, trainings, community service activities, and other events in the university and facilitating to get media coverage;
- Recording and documenting necessary events in the university to serve as center of information and data hub;
- Linking with, and answering information enquiries from media, individuals and other organizations via necessary channels (telephone, email, Facebook…);
- Conduct preliminary research to find out the concerns and expectations of stakeholders;
- Writing and distributing university’s press releases to the target population;
- Preparing and supervising the production of publicity brochures, handouts, mail leaflets, promotional videos, photographs, films and multimedia programs in the university and distribute them;
- Provide essential information for higher officials of the university and consult them on necessary matters;
- Maintaining and updating information on the university’s website and social media to communicate necessary key massages;
- Handling the public relation aspect of a potential crisis situations in the university;
- Sourcing and managing sponsorship opportunities (for staffs) and potential partners, and
- Attending media events and meetings with clients, suppliers and partners of the university.
