Advancing Reform, Celebrating Legacy

Debark University successfully participated in the Ethiopian Higher Education Reform Council Annual Meeting, organized by the Ministry of Education from August 4–6, 2025. This significant event, hosted by the University of Gondar, brought together leaders from all public university administrations, board members, and key stakeholders from across the country to engage in meaningful dialogue and develop strategies to advance ongoing reforms in Ethiopia’s higher education sector.

During this important gathering, we had the distinct honor of joining the University of Gondar in celebrating two historic milestones: the 100th anniversary of the University of Gondar Hospital and the 70th anniversary of the University’s founding. These anniversaries represent a proud legacy — a century of dedicated healthcare service and decades of academic excellence

— that continue to shape and inspire the future of health and education in Ethiopia.
