
Debark University Certifies First Cohort of E-Learning Trainees
On January 1, 2026, Debark University, in collaboration with ET Online College, successfully held a certification ceremony for the first cohort of instructors who completed an intensive e-learning capacity-building program. Organized by the E-Learning Management Directorate, the initiative provided specialized training to twenty selected faculty members representing various colleges and schools across the university. The program focused on modernizing academic delivery through curriculum development for online education, mastery of Learning Management Systems (LMS), and the production of high-quality digital content and instructional designs.
During the event, Mr. Habtamu, the Director of the E-Learning Management Directorate, delivered a comprehensive report detailing the training’s core components and the post-training action plan.This roadmap outlines the organizational responsibilities required to sustain digital education and sets a clear path for future training phases.
Dr. Habtamu Melese Zelelaw, President of ET Online College, contributed valuable suggestions on how the university can achieve long-term success in implementing blended courses, ensuring a smooth transition for both faculty and students.
Reaffirming the institution’s strategic direction, Dr. Gashaw Gismu, Vice President for Academic, Research, Technology Transfer, and Community Service, emphasized that the commitment of the University is to foster a digital learning environment that meets international standards. He noted that the integration of these technologies is essential for keeping pace with global educational trends.
The ceremony concluded with the official presentation of certificates to the first-round trainees, marking a significant step forward in the University’s journey toward digital excellence.
