Research, Publication and Ethics Directorate

Overview:
The Research, Publication, and Ethics Directorate Director is responsible for overseeing and promoting high-quality research activities, ensuring ethical compliance, and facilitating the publication and dissemination of research findings at the university. This role plays a key part in enhancing the university’s research impact, supporting faculty and student researchers, and ensuring adherence to ethical guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Research Management & Development
   Develop and implement the university’s research strategy and policies.
   Support faculty and students in conducting high-quality and innovative research.
   Facilitate research grant applications and funding opportunities.
   Strengthen research collaborations with national and international institutions.
2. Publication & Dissemination
   Oversee the publication process for research papers, journals, and books.
   Establish and maintain university research journals and platforms.
   Promote open-access publications and digital repositories.
   Ensure visibility and impact of university research through conferences and publications.
3. Research Ethics & Compliance
   Develop and enforce ethical research guidelines and policies.
   Lead the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to review and approve research proposals.
   Ensure compliance with national and international research ethics standards.
   Address ethical concerns related to plagiarism, data integrity, and human subject research.
4. Capacity Building & Training
   Organize research workshops, training, and mentorship programs.
   Provide guidance on academic writing, publishing, and grant writing.
   Support faculty and students in peer-reviewed journal submissions.
5. Monitoring & Evaluation
   Assess the quality and impact of university research projects.
   Maintain research performance indicators and reports.
   Submit annual research and publication reports to university leadership.
