- Public and International Relations Executive
Founded in 2017 and formerly known as the Public and Foreign Relations Directorate until 2023, the Public and International Relations Executive, is essential to communication, promotion and partnership development. Under the direction of the President’s Office, the Executive is in charge of acquiring as well as disseminating information, facilitating connections with local, national, and international organizations, and boosting Debark University’s standing both domestically and internationally. The Executive supports the university’s teaching, research, technology transfer, administration, and community service activities. Through encouraging collaboration and understanding, it seeks to improve the attitudes and actions of the various stakeholders at the university. The Executive uses print publications, online platforms, social media, magazine, banners, brochure, and public events, among other communication techniques, to accomplish its objectives. According to its mandate, the following are major duties of Public and International Relations Executive:
- Assist the university in achieving its vision, mission, and motto.
- Promote the university’s main initiatives in academics, research, community service and, technology transfer.
- Communicate important information to higher University authorities and offering them advice on matters of importance.
- Assist in forming strategic partnerships with both domestic and foreign organizations and maintain them.
- Act as a central repository of information for the public, other offices, and stakeholders.
- Create a comprehensive data hub by gathering and keeping track of a large number of university records.
- Evaluate and update information and documents before distributing them under the institution’s name.
- Oversee University website and social media channels.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Keep track of and document important university events to act as a single repository for data and information.
- Produce and disseminate promotional materials, such as catalogs, posters, flyers, brochures, and magazines.
- Compose and post news stories for the university website, social media.
- Make short films and documentaries to advertise the university.
- Create and oversee memorandums of understanding (MoUs).
- Keep and arrange documentation of partnerships and collaborations.
- Talk to outside groups to form partnerships and work together.
- Create and distribute announcements, cards, posters, and invitations.
- Organize seminars, workshops, graduation ceremony.
- Use a variety of platforms to advertise the university’s offerings.
- Organize press coverage for important events such as workshops and conferences.
- Observe and evaluate how the institution is covered by the media.
- Answer questions from the media and confer with university administration.
- Update and post important messages on the university’s social media accounts and website.
- Through networking and research, fortify ties with international institutions.
- Oversee and help in negotiating the university’s inter-institutional agreements.

In my role as Executive of Public and International Relations, I oversee a team dedicated to promoting the university’s goals, mission, and vision as well as its academic excellence, cutting-edge research, technology transfer, and community involvement. By actively assisting in forming partnership with local, regional, national and foreign academic institutions and organizations, we increase the university’s visibility throughout the world. Our committed employees promote the university’s services and programs, help build partnerships with stakeholders, and highlight its accomplishments.
